Proven in competition, the rear quarters increase the downforce generated by the tunnel area. The quarters' lower extensions are easily replaced composite strakes which are also protected from grounding through by molded rubber skids. The tunnel pan diffuser creates downforce and reduces drag and is easily removed for spare tire access. At 45 mph in a light rain you can actually see a well organized plume that looks similar to the ground effect rooster tail following an F1 race car. The G4R Rear Bumper fully incorporates the Greenwood Rear Quarters and Rear Valance for a more integrated function and appearance. As a complete replacement for the stock bumper, the G4R bumper can also be used to update pre-'91 Corvettes.
Shown below are the parts that make up the G4R Rear Bumper package. The two end strake caps (highlighted in blue) are part of the quarter panels in the G4RS Rear Bumper. For those kits that are ordered primered or painted, Greenwood Corvettes applies three coats of high resiliency rubber to any areas where abrasion may take place. This rubber undercoat ensures that your paint will withstand all but the most severe of impacts before chipping and flaking begins.
