The G5 Front Splitter increases frontal down force. The Splitters have 4" of ground clearance at stock ride height. They ride on a surface of Kevlar and are designed to move up 3" if the front of the car is bottomed out. They return to their original place where they are held with optional limiting cables and brackets. The concept is to let the Splitter go up easily, yet resist going down from the force of air pressure at high speeds.
The flat bottom surface of the G5 Front Splitter has a foam core that is integrated into the Splitter with a vacuum process. The core is made out of polypropylene which has the advantage of being strong yet flexible.
The G5 Front Splitter was also designed with a step-up air pressure relief into the front wheel well to increase downforce. Along with the downforce advantages of the Splitter, the redirection of the air also helps to increase air flow to the radiator.
